I am proud to endorse Mr. Ed Braddy in his campaign for Alachua County’s District 2 seat.  I have known Ed for over 15 years and he has the experience and passion required for this position.  Building on his previous experience as a two-term county commissioner, Mayor of Gainesville and currently residing in District 2, he will be able to lead from day one when he assumes office.  During the time I have known him I have experienced his dedication to work with all groups involved in certain issues to bring the best resolution forward, not for a political ideology but for the best outcome for the people of Alachua County and the City of Gainesville.  

His opponent was recently quoted as saying, “Fifty years ago we were part of a revolution working for human rights, civil rights and equal rights. And 50 years later we are still working for those things.” It makes one wonder if someone has worked for 50 years to fix a problem and it hasn’t been resolved, then maybe it’s time to redefine the needs of the county so they can go to work to build a strong tomorrow for the next generation.

I believe it’s time to get rid of the old, unproductive ideas and bring in new leadership to represent the citizens of not just District 2 but all of Alachua County, and  I am endorsing Ed Braddy to accomplish this mission.  Please consider supporting him with your vote on November 8th.
